Swiss O'pen Cup June 2008

Swiss O'pen Cup June 2008

15 June 2008: Very light winds; The first Swiss O'pen Cup was held at the Ecole de Voile la Serbache, on Lake Gruyère, Switzerland. The Ecole de Voile la Serbache was one of the first clubs to equip itself with the O'pen BICs in Switzerland, and has been training and holding sailing courses on the boats throughout this summer.

Unfortunately very light winds meant that only 2 races could be completed. However, despite the lack of wind there was definately no lack of motivation! 12 competitors participated in the event and made some very hotly contested races despite the conditions. The development of the O'pen BIC in Switzerland looks promising, and we look forward to future events where we can experience the true planing characteristics of the boat!
